Ray & Carol Jones
Well, hard as it seems to believe, here we are close to another Christmas and all that involves. And....once again, apparently time for another mail strike! That being the case, I'm afraid there will be no Christmas cards from us this year. IF you were planning to send us one it's probably best not too. We certainly want to wish you a very blessed Christmas and we know that you would want that for us too!
Here we have snow, but north like north and south of us; which we are quite happy with. But, I have to say that in fifty years of North American winters the Lord has protected us and kept us safe. Somewhat 'interesting' at times for sure, but we set out to serve the Lord fifty years ago and the Lord wasn't going to allow snow and ice tgo stop that prematurely!
So, we press on by His grace and in His strength. My diary manages to keep getting fresh entries, which draw concerned frowns and comments from my beloved wife and kids, but I do try to cut back....
In recent weeks we have lost some very dear family and friends. Our precious brother (Carol's); our sister-in-law's father, who incidentally was the great hero of faith who nurtured me from the day after I came to the Lord; a dear couple to a very serious road accident and another brother from our church. Frankly, despite knowing that they are with the Lord, it is hard to shake the sadness. But.... it certainly has caused constant and profound thankfulness for all the many precious friends both past and present, far and near. We love you!
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14
In September 1938, after signing the Munich Agreement with Adolph Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Galeazzo Ciano-Italy and Édouard Daladier British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, made his famous "Peace for our time" declaration. It was good news and full of hope! Less than a year later; Germany invaded Poland to begin World War II. Two thousand years before this failed peace, angels appeared to shepherds proclaiming real peace with the presence of the Prince of peace, who brought good will to all mankind! This peace is for all who will trust Him as their own personal Saviour! Ray Jones
Hail the heav’nly Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Ris’n with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by,
Born that man no more may die;
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth. Charles Wesley
