Ray & Carol Jones
Dear family and friends,
Just thought I would drop you all a line and wish you a very Happy New Year from Carol and I.
It was a strange Christmas this year with the absence of Christmas cards due to the timing of the union's mail strike' We haven't been affected too badly, but many small businesses were very hurt and presents got stuck in the mail. We couldn't send and Christmas cards or receive any by mail. If you did send one it should be well in time for next year! :)
So far we have had just one delivery amounting to a couple of cards and other mail.
We did have a 'white Christmas' but I'm not sure why that's such a big thing because it certainly wasn't snowing in Bethlehem when Christ was born. Mind you, there likely weren't three ships sailing across the desert or a boy banging on a drum.
I have managed to get two weeks off from preaching but am back at it on Sunday. I am trying to cut back from being so busy, but it is difficult as there are so many demands. As Vice-Chairman of the board guelphbiblecc.com I find that brings added demands. I plan to resign from that in the spring, but will still stay on the board, so I don't imagine much will change. Some years ago I was involved in starting a ministry designed to help men function within and from their local churches. It seems to be going very well and thankfully we have some very capable young men who are taking the leadership. I'm very happy with that.
We continue to highly value and appreciate all your support and encouragement. Carol has struggled with health problems for many years and now is unable to get help from the medical folk. She is doing her own research and is meeting her doctor in January. It has been and is very hard on her. We are both in our eighties now and January marks fifty years since we left England's shores to serve the Lord wherever He would lead. And lead and provide He has faithfully done all over the years! We are so very thankful and plan to press on until He calls us home or comes for His church.
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14
All for now, Love to hear from you.
Our warmest love to you all,
Ray and Carol
