Praise & Prayer

Gord & Heather - June 2019

PRAISE:  Great time in Kenya with Dave Ralph, teaching and interacting with people at two regional conferences, one in the greater Nairobi, a city of 6.6 million,  the other in the heart of traditional Maasai land. We now have three new board members on the board of Vision Ministries Kenya, something I am very thankful for. Thank you Lord for safe travels (am in Zurich as I write this, presuming on the last leg home), good health and positive impact. The time with the Eritrean pastors in Toronto? Wonderful! So thankful!!

Charlotte Martin - June 2019

PRAISE:  There have been no safety, crisis, or major team issues on any of our mission trips so far. 2 of the 5 trips have wrapped up, the other 3 end in June.  We have 4 students preparing this summer to do a year long overseas internship starting in August. PRAY:  For the gospel to be shared on our mission trips in East Asia and North Africa. These teams are making friends with local students, building relationships, and having spiritual conversations. June 7th I will meet one of our missions trips in Spain to help out with their debrief time. I will be helping students process their experience and I will be in charge of leading the staff debrief portion. Pray for my travel, and wisdom in preparing.  Continue to pray for the increase in personal financial support I need. Pray that God would lead me to people who are interested in partnering with me in ministry.

Raul & Jessenia - June 2019

PRAISE:  For a great visit from Jessenia's mom all the way from Canada. For the youth leader's continued investment and excitement in leading the youth group. We have had two youth group meetings so far and they have gone very well. We have been able to begin discipleship studies with a good number of the youth who were baptized in April and those youth seem excited about it so far. Our fundraiser for the school computer lab has begun and we are so grateful for the help we have had with that.  PRAY:  That the discipleship studies with the youth would not lose momentum but that these youth would be solidified in their walk with Christ. For our youth leaders as they struggle to balance university demands with responsibilities with the youth group - that it will not become a burden for them but will continue to be a joy to build into the adolescent youth. That we can have a fully functioning computer lab at the school soon.

Jenn Brubacher - June 2019

PRAISE: For the opportunity to organize a prayer gathering for the Southwestern Ontario YFC staff on May 22. It was incredible to pray for each other, spend time in the Word and pause for a day to spend time with our Father. As the school year comes to an end, we are taking a group of students from all of our programs (Campus Life, Impact and drop-in) to Wonderjam, a Christian concert at Wonderland. It is an amazing opportunity to build relationships and connect with students beyond our program time. In less than two and a half months, we are off to South Africa! An old friend contacted me and wanted to give our team 4 bins of brand new clothing items. We will be going during the coldest time of year and will be spending a lot of time in mountainous areas where it snows! This is a huge blessing we can extend to others. Our Summer Students, Bryce and Abbi, are almost fully funded! I am thankful for the ways God is providing. PRAY:  For continued wisdom. This past month was flooded with heart wrenching conversations with students. God is softening hearts but as these students open up, their reality can be overwhelming, crushing and hopeless. Please pray for healing and total restoration in their lives -- that they would find hope in the One who gives life to the full. Pray also for me, that I would continue to turn to my Father and not myself in these difficult situations.
