Charlotte Martin - November 2023

MARTIN, CHARLOTTE  (Guelph, ON; Power to Change)  PRAISE: Mission trip promotions at our fall Summit retreats went well. Our theme of "Deepen your roots, and Widen your horizons" was well received. We have 17 students in the process of applying for mission trips and 1 completed application so far. For productive and fun in-person meetings in October with the global missions team I lead (we meet in Hamilton) and the national leadership team I'm on (we meet in Halifax). It was wonderful to meet in person, but now I am looking forward to staying put for a while.  PRAY: November, or Govember as we call it, is a month where many P2C campus groups have a global missions emphasis. Pray that students would respond to God's invitation to be a part of his global work, we are praying for 40+ students to go on mission trips in 2024. We need more staff leaders for 3 of our 7 trips. Pray for me as I prepare to speak about global missions at Wilfrid Laurier University November 16.

J&R K - South Asia - November 2023

J&R  (South Asia; Frontiers)  PRAISE/PRAY:  Praise the Lord that we’re now free to move about the country. Please pray that tensions with Canada will resolve soon—especially before our next visa renewal in January. Praise the Lord for a good rest over the mid-term break. We’re thankful for continued health but do lift up the staff & students as we’ve been hit hard this fall by a bad viral fever. Pray for healing, strength, & stamina for all to start & finish term 2 well. Continue to lift up our Alt. Service students as they delve deeper into their questions about Christianity and Jesus. We will restart this Sunday. Thanks for your continued prayers!

Les & Sharon Frey - November 2023

FREY, LES & SHARON (Elmira, ON; Local Church)  PRAISE:  Les is recovering well from eye surgery, next appointment is November 22. We are grateful to be able to renew our activities again.  PRAY: For the four studies for Senior groups and Spanish speaking twice monthly. For total recovery for Les’s eyes.

For our visits with different couples and the marriage mentoring in general at WBC that is going on with 8 couples.

Esther Frey - November 2023

FREY, ESTHER (Puerto Rico; Emmaus Correspondence)  PRAISE: Car is serving well, repaired and got new tires, etc. So thankful for good medical attention, not taken for granted when I hear what happens in Canada. For the Lord’s provision in every aspect of life. He is faithful. 55 years as director of Emmaus courses. PRAY:  Family day was postponed to November 4 due to heavy rains. I will spend the month of November living with a sister who has returned to PR for a visit. She has some memory losses. My eyesight has diminished some but I can still drive. It really affects my office work. Pray for the Ibañez family who are missionaries with Word of Life and are living in my apartment. They need documents to be able to stay, and then they would buy a house. This would free me to sell the apartment. Special services Thanksgiving Day, November 23. Seniors meeting November 10.

Raul & Jessenia - November 2023

ESPINOZA, RAUL & JESSENIA (Guayaquil, Ecuador; MSC) PRAISE: That God continues to grant us safety. That the youth group, though small, continues to be a cohesive group. That a door keeper has been hired to help keep watch over the school during school hours as more security is needed at the school. PRAY: That God would protect our church and school community from the extortioners who are continually looking for ways to expand their action. For continued safety for our family in our daily activities. For the young, new president who was recently elected- that he would have the wisdom and courage to stand against the systemic corruption in the country and bring a measure of security back.

Prayer for a church retreat to the beach next weekend- that God would move people’s hearts to desire him more and that a time of deep fellowship would be had.
