A new marketing leader for Russ' Lausanne Movement team. Meaningful connections through the 12-week small group we have been leading. PRAY: For Russ in Addis, Ethiopia Jan 9-11 with Indigitous Africa leadership, pray that leaders would feel empowered to have Africans reaching Africa. For a new marketing director starting for Russ' Lausanne Movement team. For Meredith's health, a bit of a mystery, but fairly constant pain and eczema.

MARTIN, ROBERT & SUSAN (Kingston, ON; Kingston Prison Ministry; MSC) PRAISE: December 22 we were part of a Christmas service in Bath Institution, 70 men attended, Christ was clearly portrayed as King. Safe arrival of another granddaughter Olivia Louis Kiley on December 17. Regained access (finally) to Collins Bay Medium December 21 for one on one visits. PRAY: Energy to face the new year of ministry embracing the opportunities. We want God’s work done in God’s way! We are weak but He is very strong!

MARTIN, GORD & HEATHER (Waterloo, ON; Vision Ministries) PRAISE/PRAY: I am thankful to report that Indy's health has recovered very well. He is engaged in a variety of ministries in India with refugees from Burma/Myanmar (including victims of land-mines). We are praying he makes it back to Canada by late January or February. The new Persian church in Ottawa is coming along nicely, making new connections there. The Nigerian church plant in Mississauga baptized two young men in Lake Ontario on December 18.

MARTIN, CHARLOTTE (Guelph, ON; Power to Change) PRAISE: Praise God for 10+ students who made decisions to follow Jesus this fall. We have confirmed all of our mission trip directors for our 2023 trips. I'm thankful for a slower pace this month and time off over the holidays. PRAY: Continue to pray for 50 students to sign up for 2023 trips (there are 23 applications started). Pray for our staff member who moved to Vietnam Dec 18th. Pray that he finds permanent housing and feels settled quickly. January is a month of prayer and fasting for P2C. Pray that I would prioritize and be disciplined in prayer and fasting personally and with the global missions team. Pray that God would speak to us individually and corporately.
J&R K - South Asia - January 2023
J&R (South Asia; Frontiers) PRAISE: For a good finale to the 2nd term. We both feel more comfortable in our roles as the days go by. For the opportunity to say farewell to 3 long-term members of staff who have together served 87 years at Hebron! We're thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside them, learn from them and be blessed by all they have given to this place. For continued opportunities to share Good News and live out the gospel daily with many who do not know or follow Jesus. We're thankful for the daily opportunities to model & explain to students what the Bible means and how loving Jesus is so much more than opening rules & living up to expectations. PRAY: For a time of rest & refreshment over the holidays as we visit dear friends from our days in our former country of service. For the groups of mostly women who have been meeting over the past year and a half to hear stories from the Bible. Pray for hungry hearts and open eyes and ears to hear Good News. For me (R) as I come back into my role as Principal's Secretary full time in January. Pray for peace in the transition and humility as we all learn new patterns, balance expectations, and adjust to the inevitable change that it will be.
