Praise & Prayer

Gord & Heather - June 2021

MARTIN, GORD & HEATHER (Waterloo, ON; Vision Ministries) PRAISE/PRAY: Please continue to pray for safety and deliverance of our friend Indy, still stuck in Burma because of the pandemic and because of the civil war now going on there. It's been over a year now. The Nigerian church planting ministry in Toronto is slowly picking up steam. Praise God! Pray that churches will find a Spirit-led way to reach out to so many who are “languishing” because of Covid-19.

Les & Sharon - June 2021

FREY, LES & SHARON (Elmira, ON; Local Church) PRAISE: For health and God's provision. For many contacts unsaved and believers. One online student Jose Ismael from Mexico trusted the Lord and others were helped to grow. Two messages to Ecuador via Facebook went well. PRAY: An online Spanish student from Venezuela asked special prayer for his country which is going through all kinds of upheaval. Pray for the ongoing marriage mentoring ministry at WBC and for wisdom for the Pastoral Care Team with which we serve. Pray for several unsaved contacts we have recently made on our God- walks. We plan to follow up on some of them.

Esther Frey - June 2021

FREY, ESTHER (Puerto Rico; Emmaus Correspondence)  PRAISE:  Students who have been transferred to other prisons quickly let us know their new address!  A new student has become the Bible teacher in his area of the prison.  Our COVID restrictions have been lowered and permission has been granted for camps to be held.  Rules are to come out before the end of May.  The second coat got on the roof of my house after almost a week of rain, but no leaks!!  Saw my family doctor this month and she was so pleased with my labs that she said I don't need to do them for the next 3 months.  Praise God.  My eye condition is stable and I continue injections in my left eye every 3 months.  My accountant got my taxes filed the last day!  "Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within bless His holy name."

PRAY: TraumaHealing classes for children, June 7-11. Four boys, ages 12, will be attending. These will be held at our chapel. A team of 18 is coming from Tennessee to work at the camp June 5-11. Pray for Luis as he prepares for their arrival. Keep in your prayers the upcoming teen camp in July, the third week. Pray for Ramon and Lavinia who are the directors. We are still waiting for the company who will do the bathroom repairs at the chapel. It is urgent. We have some handicapped people who find it hard to go downstairs Sunday mornings to the bathrooms.

Raul & Jessenia - June 2021

ESPINOZA, RAUL & JESSENIA (Guayaquil, Ecuador; MSC) PRAISE: The new school year has begun well. Everything is online, but we have hope that in a few months we will be back at the school in person. Raul's family is totally over Covid and we continue in good health. The month of being locked inside our homes on the weekend is over and we feel so free now that we are back to normal routines. We met at church in person last Sunday and it was so refreshing to see everyone again. PRAY: Lord willing we will begin to have in person youth group this Saturday. Please pray that God would put the desire in the hearts of the youth to come out and that their hearts would be open to Jesus. Also please pray for our youth leaders who seem to have lost a bit of their eagerness to help out. For Raul as he takes on the responsibility of president of the school mission as there is much re-organization that needs to happen.

Jenn Brubacher - June 2021

BRUBACHER, JENN (Listowel, YFC) PRAISE: The Virtual Fundraising event was a huge success and we surpassed our fundraising goal! Our high school girls bible study is going really well. We’re using Jennie Allen’s ‘How To Read Your Bible’ study and it’s sparking a lot of great, honest conversations. I continue to enjoy my leadership course; I’m learning a lot and gaining new practical skills. A highlight this month was hearing Graham’s story. He's the owner of Impression Bakery in Listowel and shared his faith journey, how Impressions came to be and how he's using the bakery to further God's Kingdom. PRAY: The exhaustion and lack of motivation continues for many students. Please join me in praying for refinement, peace and renewed joy for staff, students, and families.
