Praise & Prayer

Robert & Susan - January 2020

PRAISE:   We had the opportunity to see men encouraged during a time that is normally dark and depressing in prison.  Christmas cards, Christmas Services were avenues to connect with men that we don’t regularly have contact with.  PRAY:  That Charlie and Kathy would soon have their security clearance granted in order to begin accompanying us into the prisons. That we would have daily wisdom and direction from the Lord as we interact with staff and inmates in such a highly regulated environment. That both Susan and I would have a deepened desire and longing to love and serve in our ministry and to see the Kingdom advanced and all for the glory of God.  We want this to be our greatest desire.

Gord & Heather - January 2020

PRAISE:  We had an excellent time visiting and being visited over Christmas! The Persian church in Toronto had a very impressive Christmas service – more people involved in the program this year than there were in attendance just a couple of years ago!  PRAY:  We are now connecting with 57 immigrant churches across Canada. This is a huge encouragement but it also is raising challenges for us. We need to mobilize people who will provide support and care for these churches apart from our current  VMC staff. Please pray with us about that ok?

Ray & Carol - January 2020

PRAISE:  Another year of Bible studies at WBC.  We moved here nearly ten years ago and proceeded to seek to be a testimony to them. They moved but have kept in touch. Jack called just over a week ago and I arranged to visit them. He brought out a box of Bibles.  One had been given him when he was young. In the front was an inscription that Jack wanted to know if his mother had written it, or was it from the Bible? "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth," He said, "I didn't do that." When I visited him it was evident that he had been saved! The Holy spirit has been faithfully on the trail of this 88 yr. old man since childhood. He is now saved and is concerned for wife.  So thankful for the elders and you all at our home assembly. PRAY:  For Jack and Evelyn and for us as we seek to be a blessing to them. We have established  a good relationship with our present neighbours and look forward to opportunities to share the gospel with them, and their family.  My diary is filling up again, which suits me, so please pray for the Lord to lead and guide in every step. Please pray for "Committing To Faithful Men" - our ministry of seeking to help young men to serve the Lord within and from their home assembly. For Carol's health and strength and for mine as we continue to seek to be used of the Lord.

Les & Sharon - January 2020

PRAISE:  Very blessed and busy year end with many activities with seniors groups and especially opportunities to minister in Spanish which included an unexpected funeral at WBC in Spanish and English, a great opportunity to give the Gospel.  We had a safe trip to Dubuque, Iowa where we are visiting our daughter Elena and grandchildren for several weeks. PRAY:  For us to be a blessing for the rest of our visit and for a safe trip home. For the Dyck family that lost the mother, leaving Isaac, Lisa Unger's father and 5 siblings behind - pray they might be drawn to the Lord and WBC.  For the seniors bible studies to be continued again this winter.

Esther Frey - January 2020

PRAISE:  Teens enjoyed a one day retreat at camp at the end of the year.  I was invited by neighbors for Christmas Day and New Year´s Eve, an unsaved environment, but had the opportunity to pray in both occasions.  Cardiologist report was very good. Thank you, Lord. He is with us!! PRAY:  More contact with neighbors.  For our three sisters with cancer.  For new vision to reach the lost in 2020.  A big campaign to visit each penal institution January 8 to February 8, one a day, all 33.  Different denominations will participate. Praying each group will take applications to the institution offering our courses.  They go in from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
