Praise & Prayer

Jenn Brubacher - March 2019

PRAISE: This month I had the opportunity to speak at Listowel Community Church. It was encouraging meeting other members of the community who walk alongside Youth For Christ in so many ways. Our new intern, Melissa, has almost all of her support in! We are thankful for her and what she brings to our team This past weekend, we took youth and volunteers to the Today’s Teen conference-- it was a great time of learning and worship. In July, we are taking a group of 8 grade 12 and fifth year students to South Africa. We are encouraged as we have our team confirmed and details continue to come together. PRAYER: This March Break, members from our team are taking a group of youth to Florida. For many of the students, this is their first time leaving the country. Pray for safety, healing and transformation as the youth hear the good news of Jesus Christ! At the youth centre, there are several youth who are experiencing severe challenges in their life. As some face court dates, addiction and mental health issues, pray for them and our team as we lead, guide and direct them towards Christ.

Russ & Meredith - March 2019

PRAISE:  For friends that the Lord is bringing our way; that Gwenyth and Heath's skin is doing better; that we are feeling settled in Singapore.  PRAY:  For continued healing of Gwenyth and Heath and their skin sensitivities; for discernment in choosing the right local church and schools to be a part of; for effective meetings with leaders in Jakarta, Seoul and Beijing and Paris this month.

Robert & Susan - March 2019

PRAISE:  February 25 we completed another 6 week session of Love & Respect with a group of 10 men.  We have the opportunity to facilitate 2 more sessions in this institution before the summer break.  Brandon has been granted work release where he will be working at a local orchard. Today is a cold day to be pruning trees.  PRAY:  J is counting the cost of being a follower of Jesus Christ - pray that the Holy Spirit would lead and empower him to be loyal to his Saviour.  P is managing through his setbacks, but has a long road ahead him - pray that his faith would remain strong, make wise choices and that we will remain steadfast and persevere despite the discouragements of  lockdowns, modified routines, weather cancelations and scheduling issues. The last four weeks have been challenging. Pray for the men who look forward to their Bible studies or other programs particularly this time of year.

Charlotte Martin - March 2019

PRAISE:  We are almost done processing the summer mission trip applications. This was my first year overseeing this and it wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be.  We've had some good team discussions this past month, God is unifying us as a global missions team and I really enjoy working with my team. PRAY:  For all the students (just over 70) going on mission trips this summer - that God would provide the funds they need to go on these trips. Continue to pray for the new summer mission trips we are trying and the leaders who are leading these trips for the first time.  Our team is overseeing a new area of responsibility and adding a new team member. Pray that the right person would be found for the new role and that he or she would be a good fit on our team.

Les & Sharon - March 2019

PRAISE:  Thanks to all who have prayed for us through this month of uncertainty regarding Les' eyesight.  February 27 the doctor gave Les the green light to resume driving after not being able to do so for the past six weeks. His first operation was a success.  PRAY:  That the operated eye will continue to do well.  April 11 Les has an appointment to find out whether his other eye will be operated on. This will depend on how well his operated eye has reacted in these next six weeks.  PRAY:  For us as we resume ministry among seniors and Spanish speakers as well as continuing to be part of the pastoral care team.
