Welcome to Govember

Happy November or “GOvember” as we call it in P2C. Throughout the month of November many P2C campus groups have a global missions emphasis called GOvember. They promote P2C mission trips, highlight God's heart for the world and encourage students to consider how they can be involved in God's global work. My team is busy finalizing resources for GOvember, and also beginning to resource mission trip directors as they start planning the different trips (above are pictures from the Summit retreat I went to at the end of September to talk about global missions).

This summer Cathy, who recently graduated from university and decided to intern with P2C shared how mission trips played a role in her life. Here's what Cathy shared:

"Looking back at the past 5 years it has been a wild journey with God. In 2019 I decided to follow Jesus and got baptized right before the lock-down. My first mission trip (MT) was the DMT (Digital Mission Trip) in 2021. [I was] on the Japan team. . . . During the MT we were told to write down 7 names of people we can share about how Jesus changed our lives to. I had my grandma on mine so I decided to share with her because of proximity. Regardless it was still an intimidating task. Interesting thing happened after: a few months later my grandma started reading the Bible in Chinese. She was baptized April 2022 before I went to Guelph for [another mission trip]. On [the MT in Guelph] God grew my heart for the nations & ministry, which prompted me to join P2C as an intern."

This is Cathy on the 2022 Nations Next Door mission trip in Guelph. Cathy is in the front row with the sunglasses.

This is what mission trips are all about. Helping students take steps of faith, that lead to more steps of faith and equipping them to live on mission with Jesus. The in person mission trip that Cathy participated in was focused on reaching out to international students, and now her internship with P2C is focused on the same ministry. This story is also encouraging because for two years we couldn't send in-person mission trips, so by faith we ran Digital Mission Trips hoping that they would have some sort of impact - and they did!

Friends at, thank you for your partnership that enables us to give students the opportunity to go on mission trips. Would you join us in praying for 40+ students to go on mission trips in 2024? My team is working hard to lower barriers and make mission trips more accessible to students. Pray that this GOvember students would respond to God's invitation to be a part of his global work.

Excited to serve Him,
