Esther Frey - Puerto Rico

Dear Co-laborer in Christ:

We are so grateful for God’s faithfulness all these years, and His provision for the Bible courses, needs of others and myself.  You are a part of that.  Thanks for praying.

This year we anticipate some changes in the will of the Lord.  Brian Array, a brother who grew up here, has been interested in taking responsibility for the Emmaus ministry.  He works with me as time allows, after his regular employment.  I have had this responsibility since 1967.  On June 29, 2024 we anticipate turning over the responsibilities to him.  He is planning to move the office to the south side of the island into space being provided by an assembly in that area.  Six from the congregation have taken the 94 courses we have available in Spanish, and one of the sisters corrected the exams.  She is ready to help Brian with this ministry.  Continue to pray for this adjustment. Brian will need a job to meet his expenses.  He is watching for jobs in his field of music, teaching violin, etc.

My plans are to return to Canada in late spring of 2025.  I need the latter part of this year to go through my things, many years of slides, photos, etc.  I’m also a permanent member of our camp board and we are looking to the Lord for guidance.  There have been many changes since the pandemic.  Our greatest concern is having camps again.  We haven’t been able to have children’s nor teen camp since, as parents are reluctant to let their children go to an unknown place.  We also lack personnel to direct camps.  Does the Lord have something else in mind for this property in the mountains of Puerto Rico?

Our assemblies have been dwindling in numbers, and those who attend are mostly seniors.  Pray for young families and children to attend.  We tried an evangelistic effort recently inviting people to an informal time in our parking lot, refreshments and some testimonies.  Our building has recently been painted by TeamWorkers from Canada, and we are also fixing the bathrooms on the second floor.  After three years of waiting, we hope they’ll be ready soon.

Thanks again for prayer and support

Serving Him with joy,

Esther Frey
