JONES, RAY & CAROL (Guelph, ON; Itinerant Preaching/Teaching Ministry) PRAISE: The Lord continues to faithfully guide, provide and lead in many ways. My schedule seems to be able to stay quite busy. With Family Camps coming up I decided to take five Sundays off during the summer, that has now dwindled to three! :) We are very thankful for all the prayer, support and friendship from our WBC family! I am missing the weekly prayer meeting on Zoom but I know they are praying for the twenty young staff I am teaching on Wednesday evenings for two months. PRAY: Please pray for these Wednesday evening Bible studies! This group seems to be reluctant to engage and I really do want to see them grow in their knowledge of and walk with the Lord. Carol continues to have health struggles but keeps walking with the Lord. We are both now in our eighties so can expect to slow down a bit...I suppose! :) Please pray for all the activities at Guelph Bible Conference Centre - it's been great so far - and for all the camps where the Word of God is being taught this summer. BRUBACHER, JENN (Listowel, YFC) PRAISE: We’re thankful for the funds raised at our annual Tour For Teens biking fundraiser, where approximately $72,000 was raised for YFC ministries across Southwestern Ontario. Camps and day trips are in full swing, and they’ve been an excellent opportunity to connect with students outside of our regular program time. PRAY: For the 11 students from our drop-in program going to Muskoka Woods camp in August. Summertime is difficult for many students who heavily rely on services provided by the school (food programs, social services, counseling, etc). Please pray for their safety and provision for the next two months.

FREY, LES & SHARON (Elmira, ON; Local Church) PRAISE: We have been able to have a pretty normal ministry life in spite of blurry vision. Thankful for August 18 appointment with eye surgeon in London, Dr Iqbal to see when he can operate. PRAY: For Les as he awaits eye surgery and keeps on his normal ministry in Spanish twice a month and wherever he is asked. Pray for several marriage situations we are helping with at present. That we will take the extra needed time this month to relax and be refreshed for the fall. We make plans but God is sovereign.

FREY, ESTHER (Puerto Rico; Emmaus Correspondence) PRAISE: This week we have 4 participating in the Healing the Wounded Heart classes. I've been helping with meals and snacks. Had excellent information from the university students for our seniors. Brian has been helping in the Emmaus office, but now starts his teaching year. PRAY: We want to redo our entry data program for the Emmaus work. A brother who helped me with the first program has knowledge of an easier way to keep records. He wants to work on it this month. Our assembly has a high percentage of seniors. Please pray for us as we seek to reach out.
Phil & Andrea - August 2023
BAUMAN, PHIL & ANDREA (Canada, International roles with SIM) PRAISE/PRAY: For a good week being ‘missionaries of the week’ at a Elim Lodge and being able to have 10 different – mostly short speaking slots to highlight SIM’s Faithful Witness in Forgotten Communities initiative. That we have 2 weeks of vacation coming starting August 7 and that some of that time will be with our kids. Pray that we will get some rest and refreshment even though there are some work responsibilities Phil will need to do in the midst of those 2 weeks. That a colleague who works in the Middle East who is taking on the Personnel Coordinator role from Andrea. Pray for Andrea as she hands over responsibilities later in August. For the opportunity for Phil to take sabbatical following Board meetings in September. Pray for wisdom for him as he finishes up and hands off his current role. Andrea will continue on with her International role but will have some sabbatical time with Phil.
