Praise & Prayer

Robert & Susan - December 2022

MARTIN, ROBERT & SUSAN (Kingston, ON; Kingston Prison Ministry; MSC) PRAISE: Praise R was discouraged because he was transferred to the Atlantic region but has found grace and strength in trusting the Lord. December 11 we will start escorting men to our church on the street following Covid restrictions. The number of men attending Alpha is increasing. PRAY: We are sending approximately 150 personal notes along with Christmas cards…pray that the love of Christ will shine into the hearts of men during this extra dark and lonely time of year in prison. L passed away November 28, he was 71 and had been in prison for 51 years. Praise God he was a believer. I had good spiritual discussion and fellowship with him for the past 4 months. Pray for his family and other inmates who lived in the same house as him. They are somewhat shaken by his passing. Pray they will consider their own mortality and hear the gospel with understanding and an open heart.

Charlotte Martin - December 2022

MARTIN, CHARLOTTE (Guelph, ON; Power to Change) PRAISE: God sustained me through my "on the go" November. The in person global missions team meetings were productive, fun, and meaningful. I got to visit 5 different campuses to promote 2023 missions. At 3 of those campuses I gave talks and I was pleased with how 2 of them went. Also, God was moving during the prayer retreat and meetings I attended in Quebec. We have almost confirmed all the directors for 2023 mission trips and training for them started at the end of November. One of our former EA international staff is moving to Vietnam in Dec as we continue to develop this new partnership. PRAY: For 50 students to sign up for 2023 mission trips. Pray as I still haven't decided if I will be a part of a mission trip in 2023. That December would be a slower month to wrap up one semester and plan ahead to the next.

J&R K - South Asia - December 2022

J&R (South Asia; Frontiers) PRAISE: Praise the Lord for a fruitful Youth Fellowship Camp last weekend with the Senior level students. Many were encouraged in their faith. Praise too for the Christmas season which is a natural avenue for sharing Good News. PRAY: Pray for the outreach happening among local women meeting weekly at the Imam’s house to hear stories from the Bible. Pray that our interactions with the students would reveal Christ to them. Pray for stamina to finish the semester well and for a good break as we visit our old Team Leaders in Oman over Christmas.

Les & Sharon - December 2022

FREY, LES & SHARON (Elmira, ON; Local Church)  PRAISE:  We are thankful that our brief flu didn’t interfere with any ministry obligations and that we are only dealing with a nagging cough.  PRAY:  December has only seven ministry events so we trust we will have some down time.  Pray for Les’s sister Marlene as she recovers from a hip replacement Dec. 1.  We would like to see a new group of couples sign up for marriage mentoring at WBC in the new year so please pray for this.  Thanks for your prayer support!

Esther Frey - December 2022

FREY, ESTHER (Puerto Rico; Emmaus Correspondence) PRAISE: Had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Forgot to mention last month the missionary retreat in Guelph. What a time of fellowship with more than 100 fellow workers. Chapel electricity has been restored. No cost!!! PRAY: When I had my recent eye injection the doctor found a little less vision in my good eye, so requested a study, but there is no space available in December, so I might have to wait until January. Maybe someone will cancel a visit! Various Christmas activities, especially one for children Dec. 18. Invitations will go out. Have a blessed Christmas time and end of the year. Even so come Lord Jesus. Still no response from the Light Company about fixing the post and lines in my backyard.
