Praise & Prayer

Raul & Jessenia - April 2022

ESPINOZA, RAUL & JESSENIA (Guayaquil, Ecuador; MSC) PRAISE: Travels to Canada went smoothly and Tiago was a very good traveler. That Raul continues to be able to do work for the school from home. Pregnancy is progressing smoothly for Jessenia. Camp season has begun and camp is able to function pretty much back to normal this year. Many of our youth leaders are helping with directing weeks of camp. PRAY: For the camp season that is just beginning. For our youth leaders as they help direct weeks of camp- for many of them this is their first time doing it and they are nervous and want to do well. Also for our youth leaders as they direct the youth group without us. We are happy with their dedication and responsibility but it is still a big task. Pray that God gives them lots of wisdom and energy in the coming months. For Raul as he continues in his role as president of the school board and all the responsibilities and decision making that falls on him and the team he works with. For our family as we re-connect with people at Wallenstein and family and friends in Canada and prepare to become a family of 4.

Jenn Brubacher - April 2022

BRUBACHER, JENN (Listowel, YFC) PRAISE: The volleyball season has come to an end and I’m thankful for new opportunities to serve at the high school! This spring I will be coaching track and field with a team of teachers. I’m thrilled to be working with a new group of staff and students and look forward to building new relationships. I’m thankful for the number of students attending our drop-in program on Tuesday and Thursday nights. PRAY: Please pray that our annual fundraiser (April 8th) goes well, that it would be a source of encouragement and the necessary funds are raised to continue to serve our community. Pray for our drop-in team as we disciple many junior high students who are having significant conflict with each other. Pray for us to teach them well, be consistent in patience and that the seeds we’re planting grow in good soil!

Phil & Andrea - April 2022

BAUMAN, PHIL & ANDREA (Canada, International roles with SIM) PRAISE: For the upcoming opportunity to visit one of the teams Andrea works with. Phil will be facilitating several days of planning with them. That while enroute we can stop for the weekend to see Andrea's brother and family in the UK. That our International Leadership Team is able to meet together face-to-face at the end of April. For the wise counsel of friends and colleagues to help us process decisions that come our way. That we have had a productive few weeks before travel. PRAY: For wisdom for Phil as he facilitates the planning, that God would guide the process and that we would all be sensitive to the Holy spirit's leading. That our time together in person with our colleagues in leadership will be fruitful. That we will remain healthy and COVID free before and during our travels. (It would not be good for the facilitator to not be able to attend!) For uneventful travel. That we can be a testimony to the goodness of Jesus with all that we meet, including family. That Cara will find out the location of the specific clinic she will be working at so she can look for housing. That Liam will have success finding a full-time job. He finishes his degree this month!

Trevor & Hannah - March 2022

MARTIN, TREVOR & HANNAH (Waterloo, ON; Power to Change) PRAISE: For a good and healthy first couple of months with our new baby Avery. For many meals, gifts and prayers in support of us adjusting to being a family of 4. PRAY: For Trevor as he has finished his parental leave, returned to work and pray for wisdom in which priorities to take on. For wisdom as we plan for a trip to BC this summer for our national staff conference and to meet some supporters we have out there.

Russ & Meredith - March 2022

MARTIN, RUSS & MEREDITH (Singapore; Power to Change / Lausanne Movement) PRAISE: Good opportunities for ministry with N. Successful meetings in 6 US cities in February. Gwenyth recovered from a mild bout with COVID-19. PRAY: For continued outreach opportunities with N, J, V, CS. For wisdom in making the right hires for 2 key roles on Russ' team. That the right partners would surface to expand our global hackathon to 200 cities this year in October.
