Praise & Prayer

Phil & Andrea - May 2021

BAUMAN, PHIL & ANDREA  (Canada, International roles with SIM)    PRAISE: For continued good responses from enquirers considering service in the Middle East. For those that have committed to service in the Middle East. That a significant ministry review that Phil has been involved with is nearing completion.  PRAY:  Pray for the Middle East regional conference taking place Thursday to Sunday this week. Because of Covid this will be nearly all a virtual conference. Pray for the speaker, who is still recovering from Covid, for those leading workshops, and for everyone taking part. Pray we will draw closer to God and to each other during this time. As it will be virtual, pray for a stable internet connection in the main location (something that can't be taken for granted there!) and for the technology to work well. That Phil and colleagues will have wisdom and sensitivity as they continue to lead various aspects of organisational change. For Cara as she is back in residence as a don. For Liam who is still looking for a co-op job. That restrictions will ease sufficiently for Kieran and Mackenzie to proceed with the wedding plans they have.

Trevor & Hannah - April 2021

MARTIN, TREVOR & HANNAH (Waterloo, ON; Power to Change) PRAISE: For the women that Hannah is discipling and that they are being prepared to graduate well, one even received a scholarship offer from Stanford.  For our faithful supporters both financial and in prayer, including our WBC family. PRAY: For a National Webinar Series that Trevor is leading for students and that more students would attend. For some support raising that we are doing, that we would do our part and trust God with His.

Russ & Meredith - April 2021

MARTIN, RUSS & MEREDITH  (Singapore; Power to Change / Lausanne Movement)  PRAISE:  God has brought a person that is a potential really good fit for the Indigitous marketing role. Teams across the region are prepared with Easter outreaches. Our kids are developing lots of healthy friends at school and our apartment complex. PRAY: Heath's challenges with skin issues continue and he wakes during the night in a lot of discomfort, pray for insight and healing. How to best support non-believing neighbours, A & C, with significant marital challenges. For Russ as he leads various digital marketing efforts and seeks to help shift old wineskin paradigms.

Robert & Susan - April 2021

MARTIN, ROBERT & SUSAN (Kingston, ON; Kingston Prison Ministry; MSC) PRAISE: R. has been released to halfway house and is seeking a church to fellowship with. G. has also released been released to a halfway house and is reconnecting with family. We are grandparents again! Meredith and Robb welcomed Samuel Harris, March 6th. Mommy and baby are healthy and doing well. PRAY: That Inmates would seek out the radio chapel services that are available; we are part of this weekly outreach and we pray many would come to faith in Christ through the gospel message and that those who do believe would be encouraged. G - he was released last July after 45 years in prison; he is back in hospital with several health issues; unfortunately he has never really learned to be responsible in regard to healthy life choices. Pray that he would put his faith in action in practical self-care ways. For inmates as they continue to experience the extra Covid restrictions: programs, parole hearings, correctional plans are much slower if not indefinitely delayed. Continue to pray for Susan’s parents and us as we care for them.

Gord & Heather - April 2021

MARTIN, GORD & HEATHER (Waterloo, ON; Vision Ministries) PRAISE/PRAY: On May 4, 2011 we began our involvement with Vision Ministries Kenya. Almost 10 years ago. Yesterday I reviewed with Ishmael the joys and sorrows of these 10 years. Please pray with us as are making plans for how we will work together for the next 5 years. Last night I was part of a global virtual prayer meeting, hosted by the Asia Evangelical Alliance, we were praying for peace in Myanmar/Burma. The violence has been continuing. Please pray for Indy’s safety and return to Canada and his family in Winnipeg. As Covid-19 drags on, continue to pray that our churches and church leaders would find the direction they need for such a time as this.
